Getting Creative with Follow Up Emails

SalesGig helps professionals get creative with follow-up emails to leads.

Follow-up emails are almost essential these days when connecting with a lead.  As a networking specialist, you might find yourself straining to come up with new ways to say “just checking in” without being redundant and losing the interest of your lead.

How Fast Should You Follow Up With a Lead?

If you haven’t already, hop over to our blog How Fast Should You Follow Up With a Lead to get the full scope.  For now, here’s a brief recap: studies show that approximately 50% of businesses did not follow-up with a lead within a five-day period. Those same studies also showed that a lead was significantly more likely to close a sale when followed up within an hour or less.  Even if you follow-up right away, it may take a few follow-up calls or emails to close the sale, which is why you need to get creative with your follow-up emails.

Offer Them Value

We’re not saying you should offer them a discount or a free sample, but you CAN offer some advice or even send an article related to their industry.  This demonstrates that you’re invested in their industry and builds trust. Another way to show your interest is to reference a blog that their company recently published in your follow-up email.

Ultimately, they reached out to you with a problem that your company has the solution to.  They are likely looking at other alternatives.  A good follow-up email would be asking whether they still have the problem, and briefly discuss how your product/service helped another company achieve a similar goal.

Follow Up After Significant Events

Have they received a promotion at work?  Was a new law passed relating to their industry?  Is there a new executive/decision maker in the organization? These are all great talking points and natural, non-redundant follow-up emails to send.  Congratulating them on reaching milestones or referencing a new law can show how you have an understanding of their industry, again offering value.  HubSpot offers some great examples of what to say.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
